32 | It was alleged that facility staff have neglected to treat Resident #1 (R1)’s eczema or rash on their legs, resulting in the skin condition worsening. LPA interviewed R1 who had no concerns and stated that they have been applying creams to their legs to treat their “rash.” Staff, resident, and visitor interviews confirmed that R1 does not receive medication assistance and is responsible for self-administration of all medications, including topical ointments and creams. LPA reviewed R1’s care plan signed and dated 08/11/2026 which documents R1 as “independent in managing medications, per physician order and nurse evaluation.” LPA also reviewed two (2) physician’s reports for R1 signed and dated 08/24/2026 and 02/26/2026 which both document that R1 is able to manage, store, and administer own medications and able to determine need for PRN medications. Based on interview and record review, the Department does not have sufficient evidence to corroborate the allegation. Although the allegation may be valid, at this time there is insufficient evidence to support the allegation or that a violation occurred, therefore, the allegation “Staff neglected to treat resident's eczema” is deemed UNSUBSTANTIATED at this time.
No deficiencies cited. Exit interview conducted. A copy of the report was issued.
